SCALE-UP Project at the STA Annual Conference & Innovation Awards
Two SCALE-UP consortium partners took part in the 8th edition of the Smart Transportation Alliance (STA) Annual Conference & Innovation Awards. The conference was organised under the motto “Introducing Taxonomy in Transportation Infrastructures”, and focused on the new EU taxonomy system & how the new classification system can steer transport industries towards a more sustainable future. Apart from the organiser Smart Transportation Alliance, the Technical University of Madrid also participated in the event.
Friederike Kühl, Programmes Coordinator at STA, represented SCALE-UP, one of the EU-funded, Research and Development (R&D) projects of STA during the “STA’s R&D in Progress” session & shared with the audience the latest developments & measures implemented in the three Urban Nodes, participating in SCALE-UP: Antwerp (Belgium), Madrid (Spain) and Turku (Finland).
The conference gathered more than 50 people, among them decision-makers, practitioners, researchers & transportation experts. It has been proven very significant & effective to share insights with a wider audience, specialized in the transport & mobility sectors & inform potential stakeholders how they can get involved with SCALE-UP activities. The audience was very keen on learning more about SCALE-UP and its recent activities, aiming to provide a better connected and climate resilient system for the cities & meanwhile develop a complex multi-modal transport system.
Additionally, the conference was a great opportunity to meet with consortium partners, use this time effectively to exchange ideas or comments and review the overall progress of SCALE-UP.
