Planning Urban and Trans-European Mobility Together
On 22-23 April, the City of Oslo is hosting a dynamic on-site two-day event at the Oslo City Hall (Norway), co-organised by POLIS and Eurocities, titled "Planning Urban and Trans-European Mobility Together”. The event will feature the participation of the MOVE21 project, the sister project of SCALE-UP.
This two-day event invites European cities designated as urban nodes in the new Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T regulation) and mobility professionals to discuss challenges and opportunities associated with passenger transport both within and extending beyond urban nodes.
The agenda will focus on the collaborative efforts essential for transport, the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP), and the development of multimodal passenger hubs and freight terminals. Additionally, engaging presentations, interactive workshops, and insightful panel discussions will take place.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share best practices, and forge partnerships to drive positive change in urban mobility planning and implementation. Key themes explored during the conference will include the integration of smart technologies, the development of multimodal transportation networks, and the importance of stakeholder engagement in shaping effective mobility policies.
Several SCALE-UP consortium partners will actively participate, sharing insights and best practices in urban planning and showcasing recent SCALE-UP developments.
On 23 April 2024 from 13:00-14:30 CET, Michiel Penne Coordinator from Smart Ways to Antwerp and representing the City of Antwerp, the Project Coordinator of the SCALE-UP project, will share his insights on collaboration across governance levels in the panel "Collaboration on the management of commuter traffic."
In a parallel plenary session entitled "Integrating long and short-distance infrastructure", Stella Aaltonen, Project Manager from the City of Turku and Sergio Fernandez Balaguer, Head of Department from Municipal Transport Company of Madrid (EMT), will discuss further enhanced multi-level collaboration and different ways seamless integration of urban nodes within the TEN-T can be achieved.
Attendance at the event is free of charge.
