Meet SCALE-UP at the TRA2024 in Dublin, Ireland next week!
From 15 to 18 April 2024, consortium partners of the SCALE-UP project will be present at the upcoming Transport Research Arena Conference (TRA) in Dublin, Ireland.
TRA is the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility. This years theeme “Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility,” aligns with the SCALE-UP project objectives and mission. The conference brings together experts from around the world to discuss the newest innovations and the future of mobility and transport. It also provides a shared opportunity to push the boundaries of what we know and to chart new territories in transport research.

Monday, 15 April 2024
14:00-15:15, Poster Session 1.2 “People centred & inclusive mobility” (Stage 2, Hall 8C, Simmonscourt): Meet two speakers respresenting the SCALE-UP consortium: i) Mrs Oona Uusitalo from the City of Turku to learn about "Art Competition as a Creative and Participatory Tool for the Promotion of Sustainable Mobility” from the preceding USER-CHI project. ii) Mrs Mari Luz Brownrigg-Gleeson, from Transport Research Center (TRANSyT-UPM) of the Technical University of Madrid will present her findings during the pedestriansation of the centre of Madrid in a paper titled "Exploring Citizens’ and Businesses’ Acceptance of New Pedestrianisation in Madrid."
14:00-15:15, Technical Session 1.3.1 “Transport behaviour“ (Hall 3A, Serpentine Hall): Mrs Annika Kunnasvirta from the Turku University Of Applied Sciences will present her research entitled "Promoting Cycling Skills of Schoolchildren – Participatory Impact Evaluation Methods as Nudges for Active Mobility."
14:00-15:15, Special Session 1.5 “Sustainable urban mobility solutions for climate-neutral and smart cities“ (Hall 8A-5, Simmonscourt): Mr Sergio Fernández Balaguer, from SCALE-UP Partner Municipal Transport Company of Madrid (EMT), paticipates in the CINEA moderated panel discussion.

9:45-11:00, Poster Session 4.4 “Urban, Regional & Rural Transport“ (Stage 4, Hall 8C, Simmonscourt): Mrs Stella Aaltonen from the City of Turku, will present her paper “Soft Measures Speeding up the Change – Showcases from the City of Turku, Finland.”.
9:45-11:00, Technical Session 2.1.12 “SUMPs and policy design” (Stage 4, Hall 8C, Simmonscourt): Prof. Andres Monzon, fromTransport Research Center (TRANSyT-UPM) of the Technical University of Madrid, will present his insights on the importance of SUMPs as tools to make the vision of walkable cities a reality with his paper titled "15-minute City: a holistic approach in the frame of SUMPs.”.
