The SCALE-UP Project Invites You to Celebrate European Mobility Week in Madrid, Spain

From 16 to 22 September 2024, the European Mobility Week takes place in Madrid, Spain.

From 16 to 22 September 2024, Madrid will celebrate and host the European Mobility Week. This year's theme is "Shared Public Space" and the motto is "Combine and Move." These ideas bring together dozens of activities, ranging from promotions and outdoor sports classes to pedestrianisation initiatives and alternative, safe mobility circuits, culminating in a big celebration on Sunday, 22 September 2024.

More than 70% of Europe's population lives in urban areas, contributing to the shrinking of public space in many cities. When there is enough space for all modes of transport, people, and activities, social equity and road safety levels improve, while noise and air pollution decrease, leading to a better quality of life. Sharing public space, therefore, brings numerous benefits to society.

The Madrid 360 Environmental Sustainability Strategy is aligned with this objective and serves as the core of mobility efforts in Madrid.

On Sunday, 22 September 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Paseo del Prado, from Atocha to Colón, will host dozens of activities promoting sustainable, healthy, and safe mobility as part of Madrid 360.
